Cookie and local storage policy

Effective 24 August 2026. ePrivacy / GDPR: we do not set advertising cookies. We use the browser’s localStorage, which is not an HTTP cookie but is treated the same way here because it stores data on your device.

1. What we set

NameTypeDurationWhoPurposeLegal basis
gv_consent_v1 localStorage (first party, getvram.com) Until you clear it, or 13 months then we ask again Us Stores whether you allowed Google Fonts, and when you answered Strictly necessary to remember / prove consent (ePrivacy exemption for the consent record itself; GDPR Art. 6(1)(c) / 7)
gv_waitlist localStorage (first party) Until you clear site data Your browser only, unless POST /api/waitlist succeeds Holds email, GPU, use case, timestamp if the waitlist server is down Consent from the form checkbox
Google Fonts files / cookies Google may set on fonts.googleapis.com or fonts.gstatic.com Third party, only after “Accept fonts” Google’s policies Google LLC, United States Typography Consent. Refusing still lets you use the site with system fonts.

We do not set _ga, _fbp, or similar. Language is chosen by URL (/es/ vs English), not by a cookie.

2. How to change your mind

Use the buttons on the banner when it appears. To reset later, clear storage for getvram.com in your browser, or run in the console: localStorage.removeItem('gv_consent_v1') and reload. After a reset we will ask again.

To wipe a locally stored waitlist draft: localStorage.removeItem('gv_waitlist').

Browser controls: Chrome “Cookies and site data”, Firefox “Cookies and Site Data”, Safari “Privacy”. That deletes first-party storage for this host.

3. No cookie wall

Refusing fonts does not block docs, pricing, or GitHub links. The only thing you lose is Inter / JetBrains Mono loaded from Google.
